Grasp

Two cast impressions of a squeezing hand, one in paper one in bronze. The inverted gestures click together, but only hold when vertical on the wall—gravity locking in the narrow hold that keeps the sculpture together. The simultaneous squeezing and pulling, opposing materials and overall tension and gravity of this work represents a relationship desperately grasping to stay together when the only thing more painful that holding on is letting go.
